Hi Everyone
I have just joined after a google search. My name is Gordon and I live in Hereford in the UK with my partner Joanna and 3 German short haired pointer dogs Storm, Gunner and Hunter. I work as a psychiatric nurse on night duty and also do personal safety training and lecturing on mental health law. I have had a long term interest in astronomy since I was a young child and more recently ie the last couple of years imaging deep sky which is where my main interest lies. My main preference is for emission line or narrow band imaging partly due to the light pollution where I live and also because of the flexibility and stunning results that this type of imaging can produce. I started out with a Meade based system but a continual catalogue of horror stories and unreliability problems with all of it so a year and a half ago I made a really major upgrade to my current system of the following
Paramount ME on a Tri-pier 2
Takahashi BRC-250 f5
TMB 115 f7
William Optics 72 f6
Starlight Xpress H36, H9, MX7C and M8C
FLI PDF focuser
FLI CFW-2-7 filter wheel
Astronomik 12nm Ha, OIII and SII and LRGB filters
I enjoy the outdoors and like a bit of mountain biking and also enjoy travelling. Although imaging for a year and a half I still consider myself a relative beginner and most of the stuff I have learnt has been through trial and error and from picking up tips from the experts on the forums.
Below is an example of my first attempt at the horsehead nebula and also my latest attempt taken a year later. Details of these images and more info about myself and equipment can be found on my website

Best wishes and clear skies
